I did not comment on this matter in May, I felt Iran has the right to defend itself if necessary. Since that time I have endevored to learn more before making any unqualified comment. I am not at all comfortable with the illegal cartel running Iran's government. They have proved, beyond any doubt, they do not respect the basic human rights of the citizens of Iran. Why should I believe their intentions with missiles may not be used for something other than defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The leaders of Iran, represented by Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, would have to correct the illegal human rights violations occuring inside of Iran and also address past issues properly before I would consider trusting anything they do or say first. I wonder if Mr. Ahmadinejad and the others know they could someday be prosecuted for the crimes against humanity of which they are a party to. The Iranian constitution clearly declares the presidents role in the government. If Mr. Ahmadinejad chooses to hold that position he holds with it the responsibilities of being president, including accountability to International law in addition the laws of Iran. I would not be surprised to see an ICC inditement of Mr. Ahmadinejad someday, even if years from now. It happened to Pinochet, it's happened to al-Bashir and similar prosecutions have been successful with special courts set up to specifically address crimes commited by a president, i.e. Special Court of Seirra Leone and former president Charles Taylor. The ICTY is still active with matters from Yugoslavia from years ago. Maybe it's time for Mr. Ahmadinejad and his associates to 'take their money and run' and let more responsible leadership, chosen by the people of Iran, try to run the country and address all of the wrongs which have been commited over the years.
